Our story
Menopause, Hair Loss and Alopecia: My Journey Back to Confidence
Menopause changed more than my hormones.
It changed how I felt about myself.
As my hair became thinner, I found myself avoiding mirrors, worrying about every strand left on my brush and wondering what would happen next.
When my doctor mentioned the possibility of alopecia, I was terrified.
Hair had always been part of my identity.
As a beautician and hairdresser for over twenty years, I understood how deeply hair affects confidence. I had spent years helping others feel beautiful, yet suddenly I was struggling to recognise myself.
I even reached a point where I asked my daughters if they would shave my head because I could not bear watching my hair disappear any longer.
What surprised me most was how many women were going through the same thing in silence.
Menopause is talked about more today than ever before, yet the emotional impact of hair loss remains largely hidden.
Many women feel embarrassed.
Many suffer alone.
Many believe they simply have to accept it.
Over the years, I have met countless people through Gold Earth who have shared their own stories with me.
One conversation will stay with me forever.
A beautiful lady in her late eighties approached me and quietly asked, "Is it too late for me?"
My answer was simple.
"If you had an old tree that gave the most shade and the most fruit, would you stop watering it? Would you stop feeding it?"
She smiled and said, "Of course not."
Neither should we.
Whether we are forty, sixty or eighty, we still deserve care, confidence and self-respect.
I have also learned that hair loss is not only a women's issue.
Many men struggle in silence too.
Some customers have told me they feel embarrassed discussing hair loss with family members or partners. Others hide their concerns completely.
Yet there is nothing shameful about wanting to care for your hair.
Nature teaches patience.
We do not plant a seed today and expect a tree tomorrow.
Natural hair care takes consistency.
Gold Earth Hair Essence was never designed as a quick fix.
For best results, it should be massaged gently into the scalp and hair three times a week and left overnight whenever possible.
I am now in my second year of using it myself.
Not because I have to.
But because caring for ourselves is not a one-time event.
It is a lifelong commitment.
My journey began with fear.
But it led me back to hope.
And if you are facing menopause, hair loss, alopecia or thinning hair, I want you to know that you are not alone.
